Anger presents itself in many ways. Some examples of this are mild annoyance, fury, resisting, aggression, avoidance, muscle tension, altered thinking, and revenge; and these can all lead to dysfunction in our lives. Our anger has become an issue if it:

- Causes us to withdraw from our usual activities and our relationships
- It perhaps may trigger the use of alcohol or drugs as a form of “escape”
- Symptoms evolved into feelings of resentment, perhaps creating explosive reactions to situations
- It gets in the way of our normal functioning and is having a negative effect on our daily lives and relationships.
- Headaches
- High blood pressure
- Depression
- Gastrointestinal disorders
- Skin rashes
